Throughout my first year at Elon University, I learned that writing an essay is very different from writing for print, online, radio or televised news. I have learned that there are various styles included in media writing, such as personal profiles, press releases, and full-feature stories. No matter what beat you're assigned, it is important to set aside time to conduct interviews, gather research and edit your drafts before publishing. Below, you'll find some examples these styles, and a few others along the way!

Here you'll find the English version of an articles in más+menos, a human interest magazine that I helped publish while studying abroad in Seville, Spain. The story features the overwhelming obstacles faced by one refugee as he transitioned from his home in Syria to a new life in Seville. The article was published in both English and Spanish, and I served as the Editor of English texts for our team.
