First Year Student's Guide
Campus Recreation Logo Update |
Here you'll find a sample of the logos for Elon University Campus Recreation. I was responsible for updating the logo to meet the 2017 Elon University Style Guidelines and make edits to the old logo with regard to font and color. This logos were printed on all staff apparel, new posters around the building and featured on any marketing materials across the organization's nine departments. I was also tasked with creating the Campus Recreation 25th Anniversary Logo featured in gold.

Student Health 101
Student Health 101 is a magazine geared towards college students. The magazine is shared nationwide across various campuses, but each university solicits drop-in pages from campus organizations to give personal flare to the monthly publication. Below you'll find some drop-in pages that I created for the magazine on behalf of Elon University Campus Recreation. Each drop-in features tips on how to enhance your health in physical and mental ways. I loved these assignments every month because I had full creative control over the content and design. It really challenged me to come up with engaging ideas every month. I learned a lot about how important brand is--even though this wasn't a direct publication through Campus Recreation, we needed to continue the positive health and wellness brand that our organization embodies with each drop-in page.
Website Mockup
For this project, I utilized Adobe Photoshop CC to create a mock website based on the design layout of the National Aquarium's homepage. On the left is the original website, and on the right is my final website mockup for an imaginary company called Sweetie Cakes. The photographs were found using iClipart, an online resource for uncopyrighted images.

I utilized Mockingbird to create a wire frame layout for my project before opening up a blank canvas. It is important to have a detailed plan before opening up Photoshop, so that my workflow is fast and efficient.
2D Image Recreation
For this project, I recreated a Keith Haring portrait from a blank art board using Adobe Illustrator CC. The original image is shown below on the left, and my recreation is shown on the right.
This assignment was great practice for manipulating anchors and paths in this vector-based software. I selected this image because I knew that I would be forced to pay great attention to the spacing and sizing of the individual shapes, and that I could focus on recreating the portrait as accurately as possible.
Self Portrait

For this assignment, I was tasked with creating a self portrait that incorporated a scanned image of my body parts. Rather than creating a literal self portrait, I chose to scan parts of personal items that I cherish such as the zipper from my favorite purse and the back of my phone case, as I always have them near me. Also, I scanned my fingers, and used them as the stems for the flowers that I won at a championship soccer game. Lastly, I collaged my scanned and edited images into a portrait that described my identity. Below you'll find my finished piece!
